01. What are the RV requirements?

There is no age/year limitation.  Just request your RV or camper to be in good repair.  RV or camper must be self-contained and be RVIA certified.  No vehicles such as busses, box trucks, and storage trailers converted to motorhomes or campers.

06. Are there outdoor activities close in proximity to the resort?

FISHING AND BOATING

  • Opossum Lake (14 mi) – Fishing and boating on the 47-acre lake located in Cumberland County.  There are 3 launch ramps for non-powered boats and boats powered by electric motors. The lake has historically been stocked with muskellunge fingerling, channel catfish, and large-mouth bass. 
  • Sherman’s Creek – offers fishing and kayaking with the right water levels.  Sherman’s Creek is a tributary to the Susquehanna River.
  • Tuscarora State Forest (22.2 mi) – 96,025 acres – Offers boating, fishing, horseback riding, mountain biking, sightseeing, cross-country skiing, hiking, hunting, picnicking, and snowmobiling. 
  • Yellow Breeches Creek – well-known waterway for fly-fishing for enthusiast and beginners. The creek has two public boat launches and 12 kayak launches.  The average depth is 2 to 4 feet.  Tubing is another favorite activity on the Yellow Breeches.
  • Blue Mountain Outfitters (26.4 mi) at 103 State Road, Marysville, PA 17053.  Offers canoe and kayak rentals, shuttle service, and river trips on the Susquehanna River.

HIKING AND OVERLOOKS

  • Waggoner’s Gap Hawk Watch (8.6 mi) – .4 mile trail to outlook on the Kittatinny Ridge offers the largest concentrations of raptors.  Great place to see Golden Eagles and in PA to watch the fall hawk migration.
  • Flat Rock Trailhead (12.6 mi) at 1599 Doubling Gap Road, Newville, PA 17241
  • Frank E Masland Jr Natural Area (18.9 mi) at Lurel Run Road in Toboyne Township, PA.  The area offers various degrees of trails from easy to hard

  • Gettysburg Battlefield/Gettysburg National Military Park (50 mi) at 1195 Baltimore Pike, Gettysburg, PA 17325
  • Doubling Gap Overlook (16 mi) – in Colonel Denning State Park located at Bower Mountain Road, Blain, PA 17006
  • Little Buffalo State Park (18 mi) at 1579 State Park Road, Newport, PA 17074 – The 923-acre park is a historical destination and is used for recreation.  Offers hiking trails, picnic, ADA-accessible swimming pool with two waterslides and spray-ground, hunting, fishing, kayaking, and community events.
  • Carlisle Events (17.6 mi) at 1000 Bryn Mawr Road, Carlisle, PA 17013.  Carlisle is home to the famous Corvettes at Carlisle car show.

Yes, golf carts are available to rent as an add-on to your reservation.  You can book online at the time of your booking, through your guest portal, or by calling the Resort Office.
