General Rules & Conduct
To ensure a pleasant and safe experience for all guests at Back Roads Camping and RV Resort, we ask that you adhere to the following general rules and conduct guidelines:
- Speed Limit: The speed limit is 5 mpg through the campground and 10 mph on the driveway into the campground. All vehicles must display a valid license plate.
- Vehicle Operation: A valid driver’s license is required to operate motor vehicles, including golf carts. Use of dirt bike, minibikes, ATVs/UTVs and unlicensed motor scooters is strictly prohibited.
- Supervision of Minors: Children under 16 must be supervised and accompanied by an adult at all times.
- Vandalism: Any vandalism will result in immediate eviction from the resort. This includes cutting, nailing or defacing of any live trees.
- Visitor Policy: Day visitors are welcome from 9am to 10pm. Visitor/guest fees are currently being waived unless guest policy is abused. Otherwise, guests will be subject to $5 day use fee or $10 nightly fee. Campers are responsible for ensuring their guests comply with this policy.
- Quiet Hours: Please observe quiet hours between 10pm and 9am.
- Dumpsters are provided behind the bathhouse. Please do not leave any trash at your site.
- Firewood: All firewood must be purchased from Back Roads Camping office or from approved local vendor. For more information, https://www.dontmovefirewood.org/map/pennsylvania/

Check-in/Check-out Policy
Check-In
- All guest and visitors must register at the office upon arrival.
- Site rent/balance is due and payable at the time of check-in.
- Check-in Times
- Monday to Saturday: 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM
- Sunday: 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Check-Out
- Check-out is 11:00 AM daily
- Guests are required to vacate their site by the designated check-out time.

Cancellation & Change Policy
If you need to cancel your reservation or make adjustments, please contact us at 717-514-4663 before the specified deadlines outlined below:
- RV and tent Sites – Reservations canceled up to 48 before check-in will receive a refund less a $20 cancellation fee. Reservations cancel within 48 hours of check-in or no show, there is no refund.
- Cabin – Reservations canceled up to 7 days before check-in will receive a refund less a $20 cancellation fee. Reservations canceled less than 7 days before check-in or no shows, there is no refund.
Please note:
- Changes to your reservation during these time periods will incur a $10 fee per modification.
- We do not offer refunds for early departures.

Smoking, Fireworks, & Firearms
- Please place cigarette butts in proper receptacles. Do not dispose of them in planters.
- The use of firearms of any kind is prohibited with in the resort.
- The use of bows & arrows, slingshots, and air guns is prohibited
- Fireworks of any kind are prohibited on the premises.
- The use of illegal drugs is prohibited.

Guest Responsibility & Liability
- Tenants and guests MUST assume financial responsibility for any damage or injury caused by themselves, their children, and/or pets.
- The resort is not responsible for personal injuries or for the damage, loss, or theft of any personal property or vehicle.

Pool and Fishing Policies
Pool Policies
- Pool Access: The pool is open from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM. No swimming after dusk.
- Glass Containers/Food: Glass containers or food are NOT allowed around the pool. The adjacent pavilion is available for eating and drinking.
- Child Supervision: Children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian
- Lifeguard Notice: There is no lifeguard on duty – swim at your own risk.
- No Diving: The pool is a no diving pool and is only 6 foot deep. Along with no diving, no running or horseplay will be permitted in the pool area.
- No Pets: No pets in the fenced in pool area. Do not tie your pet to the fence to enter the pool area.
- No Smoking: Smoking in the pool area is prohibited.
Fishing Policies
- Lake Fishing: Fishing is permitted in the well-stocked campground lake; no fishing license is needed. CATCH & RELEASE fishing only.
- McCabe Run Fishing: A stream behind the lake is NOT on our private property; a license is required to fish there.
- Vehicles: NO vehicles, except golf carts, are permitted to drive anywhere on the property below the paved road (McCabe Rd).
- No Swimming: Swimming is prohibited in both ponds. Wading in McCabe Run is at your discretion and at your own risk.

Cabin Policy
The following rules apply specifically to our rental lodging:
- Check-In/Check-Out: Check-in is at 3:00 PM and check-out is no later than 11:00 AM
- Minimum Stay: A two-night minimum stay on weekends on all cabins. Reservations for the holiday weekends of Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Labor Day must be for a minimum of three days; Halloween weekends require two-day reservations.
- Late Check-Outs: We do not allow late check-outs or early check-ins on lodging to best serve our campers and have adequate time to clean these units. Our team works very hard to clean and sanitize all units.
- No Smoking: Smoking in any rental unit will incur a $250 charge against the reserving party’s credit card.
- Vehicles: A maximum of two vehicles may be parked outside of rental units. Additional vehicles, if any, should be parked in visitor’s parking.
- Pets: No pets allowed in the rental cabins.
- Cancellation: See Cancellation policy
- No underage drinking or illegal substances.
- Lines and Towels: Blankets, quilts or comforters, pillows, sheets and towels will be provided.
- Accidents: Accidents happen. If you break or damage something, please let us know so that we can make arrangements to replace or repair the item.
- Garbage: Please collect trash and dispose of the garbage upon departure. There are dumpsters located to the left of the bathhouse just past the office.
- Please do not move chairs, mattresses or other furniture or appliances outdoors.
- Do not flush anything down the toilet except toilet paper. We are not on public sewer and our septic system can not handle anything except toilet paper.
- Departure Procedures:
- Your access key will not work after 11:00 AM on your departure day.
- Please leave the cabin as you found it.
- Please strip the bed and put used sheets and towels on the floor in the bathroom. Do not remove the protective mattress covering.
- Dispose of garbage at the dumpster next to the bathhouse.

Golf Cart Policies
- Trails: Please enjoy the golf cart trails and yield to hikers. When crossing McCabe Road, please use caution and look both ways.
- Permits: All golf carts must be registered with the office and provide proof of insurance. There is a small annual permit fee. Permits are required for all guests wishing to operate a golf cart on the premises (including but not limited to seasonal, overnighters, monthly).
- Permit location: Permits are to be placed on the driver’s side lower left windshield. If no windshield, please place in a visible location on the driver’s side.
- Speed Limit: Speed limit is 5mph through the campground and 10 mph on the driveway up to the office
- Golf Cart Type: Electric golf carts are strongly encouraged. Existing gas-powered golf carts are grandfathered in.
- Golf Cart Operators:
- Anyone operating the golf cart must have a driver’s license.
- Drivers between the age of 12 and 16 may operate a golf cart provided there is an adult age 21 or older with a driver’s license on the front seat supervising the minor.
- No one under 12 years of age may operate a golf cart.
- No ATVs, UTVs, dirt bikes or mini-bikes
- One golf cart per site.
- No standing in the golf carts while moving.
- No golf carts in the pond or in the stream. There will be a $300 recovery fee and lots of pictures will be taken and posted on social media on what not to do.

Pet Policies
Back Roads Camping is pet-friendly. We welcome campers who enjoy traveling and sharing their camping experience with their dogs and/or cats. To ensure the safety and comfort of all guests, please adhere to the following pet policy:
- Aggressive dogs of any breed are not permitted. If your dog exhibits protective or unfriendly behavior toward strangers, please leave them at home. If an on-site dog displays aggressive behavior, campground management will require you to make alternative accommodations. Back Roads Camping is privately owned and reserves the right to evaluate each situation individually if issues arise.
- All dogs must be under the owner’s supervision at all times. A 6-foot leash rule is in effect whenever your pet is outside your camper, vehicle, or motorhome. Pets may not be left tied up and unattended.
- Excessive barking or disruptive behavior at any time, day or night, is not permitted. If your pet’s behavior disrupts others and cannot be controlled, you may be asked to leave the campground.
- Guests are responsible for immediately cleaning up after their pets and dispose of waste in a proper area. Dog waste stations are available and located around the campground or place in garbage cans/dumpster. Failure to do so may result in being asked to leave the campground.
- Restricted Areas: Pets are not permitted in the pool area, bath house, and campground office. Please be courteous to others and do not let your pets on occupied sites.
- Service animals of any breed are welcome but must comply with leash restraint policies and must not exhibit aggressive behavior.

RV Policies
- RVIA Certification: Only RVs certified by the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) are allowed on the premises.
- Self-Contained Requirements: All RVs must be fully self-contained, equipped with a bath, toilet, and kitchen facilities.
- Prohibited Vehicles: Non-RVIA vehicles such as buses, box trucks, and storage trailers converted into motorhomes are not permitted.
- Tow Vehicles: Commercial semi-tractor trailer tow vehicles and tow trucks are also not allowed on the site.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Vehicle and RV maintenance is prohibited on the property. No washing of RVs or vehicles. However, seasonal guests are permitted to perform light maintenance on their RV as specified in their seasonal lease.

Site Policies
- Open Flame Policy: Fire pits (wood or propane), charcoal grills, propane grills are allowed. Flame must be contained.
- Outdoor Sleeping: Mattresses, cots, and sleeping bags are not allowed under pavilion or anywhere on site unless in a tent or RV.
- Storage Items: Boats, car dollies, and boat or cargo trailers are NOT allowed on sites. Storage is available in our designated areas for an additional fee.
- Vehicle Washing: The campgrounds water supply is provided by a well and is limited. Please no washing of personal vehicles.
- Parking: Each site is limited to two vehicles.
- Motorcycles and Golf Carts: Motorcycles and golf carts are NOT allowed under the pavilions or patios.
- Restricted Areas: The maintenance shed and storage area is off-limits to guests.
- Occupancy Limits: A maximum of six people is allowed per site, regardless of age. Additionally, a maximum of three pets may register per site.
- Day Visitors: Day visitors are welcome at your site between the hours of 9 AM and 10 PM, but they must first register at the office. A maximum of 10 people total is allowed on a site at any given time, and all visitors are required to leave by 10:00 PM. Visitors/guest fees are currently being waived unless the guest policy is abused. Otherwise, guests will be subject to $5 day use fee or $10 nightly fee.
